Airissuin FAQ

What's a Rihannsu?

The Rihannsu are usually called "Romulans" outside their own territory (or "romuluSngan" by the damned Klingons). The singular is Rihanha.

Why stories about a Romulan crew? Why not humans?

Don't you think there are enough stories about humans (and Vulcans, Klingons, Bajorans, Andorians, et al) floating about already? The Rihannsu would like to show the rest of the galaxy that they are quite entertaining people. They have a long tradition of storytelling, and a heightened sense of humor and drama.

So what's an Airissuin?

That's the ship. It is named for a region on ch'Rihan (the home planet, as opposed to ch'Havran, the other home planet) which is famous for its wild, beautiful purple fields and rugged red mountains. It's not far from Ra'tleihfi, the capital city.

Why is this site called Song of Airissuin? Do the fields sing?

Of course not. A "song" can also be an epic poem-- a storytelling form-- and these are the stories of the ship Airissuin and her crew.

Is there anything else I should know?

Nothing that isn't covered in the stories, the glossary, and the crew page. Except maybe that ch'Havran is not the "Remus" of the movies. Dark on one side, hot on the other? Yeah, right. It's quite temperate, and it has much better skiing than ch'Rihan. If Terrans can live on Luna comfortably, it's ridiculous to think anyone else might have difficulty living on the smaller of a dual planet system (and ours came with an atmosphere naturally).
