I started coding at age 5 with LOGO and BASIC... and thus started a love affair with taking the possibilities of code and making something cool and useful.

In early 1998, I got my first GeoCities account and built a small website that housed some goofy stories I wrote about my friends (hey, it was high school). I also kept an online journal, blogging before it was fashionable or even had a name. That GeoCities site migrated to a private server while I was in college, and it was then I bought the clubcalypso.com domain. Eleven years later, I have matured (somewhat) but can't seem to give up the name. So here we are, using clubcalypso.com to house my web design business. I'm so green, I recycle names!

Short version: I've been designing websites for 11 years. I have a knack for color and design (chalk it up to being a girl). I have absolutely no formal training -- totally self-taught, trial-and-error, and you get to benefit now that I've got it together.

Here are some things I can do:
* HTML and XHTML
* CSS
* Graphic design
* MySQL databases (but I'm still learning)
* PHP (again, still learning)
* modify other peoples' JavaScripts for my uses

Here are the things I cannot do:
* write my own JavaScript
* Flash

I'm a huge proponent of recycling other peoples' script and code. I won't steal code -- but I love to use Open Source code. I'll go looking for freebies all the time.

Some cool Open Source stuff I use:
* Drupal (it runs this site)
* WordPress blog/CMS
* MyBB forums
* Coppermine Photo Gallery
* AJAXChat
* XSPF Jukebox
* OSCommerce shopping cart

I use Dreamweaver for coding (and sometimes just a text editor on the server) and Photoshop for graphic design.

What can I do for you?
* Create a business website with contact forms.
* Open your very own online store.
* Create an integrated fan website -- whether you're a fan or the celeb in question!
* Give you a blog like nobody else has.
* And yeah, I'll handle porn or other adult-oriented sites, too. :)

How about Google rankings?
Sure! SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a crucial part of getting a website up and running these days. I'll make sure your static text and links are SEO friendly, get you registered with Yahoo! and other search engines, and submit a sitemap to Google so they'll list you. Want to pay Google to have your site show up at the top of the page? I'll help you with that, too. Plus, you'll be listed in my "Live Portfolio" over there on the right -- and since I am crawled by Google constantly, that'll boost your ranking. Obviously, I can't guarantee all this will make you popular -- but it works better than doing nothing.
